Baby Girl Gift Ideas & Wrapping Tips

August 4, 2014
Both of my best friends from childhood are pregnant right now, and both are them are pregnant with girls! =)
I went to one of their baby showers today, so I thought it would be fun to share some of my baby shower gift picks for girls, plus how I’m wrapping the gifts I chose to bring! =)
Wubbunub Pacifier |Freshly Picked Moccasin (s/o gold and silver here)
Como Tomo Bottles (set of 2)
These are some of my favorite baby shower gift ideas. I own many of these items for my son, and love them. The Como Tomo bottles are a great transitional or supplement bottle for breast feeding mothers, and Sophie the Giraffe is a baby must have! Aden & Anais Bamboo Swaddle blankets are so soft and beautifully made. The other items are just too adorable to pass up for a baby girl. I ended up choosing items that were on her registry, and items I personally loved for my son.  =)
I found this ADORABLE gold polka dot paper and pink ribbon at The Paper Source!
It sorta reminded me of the Kate Spade Collection, and I thought it would be the perfect wrapping paper for a baby girl.
Here’s What You Need (to wrap a gift just right):
Wrapping Paper
Double Sided Tape
I get these Aden and Anais bamboo swaddles for ANYONE I know that’s having a baby!
They are so wonderful! They are so soft and beautifully made.
Start by placing the box onto the wrapping paper with the front side facing down. We are working on the bottom and sides.
The key to the perfectly wrapped present is all in the measurements, and a little practice.
Place the box on top of the wrapping paper facing down. The wrapping paper should come up about half way on the right and left sides of the box. I’m going to measure and cut accordingly.
With the box facing you, you should have paper on the top and bottom. I’m measuring the paper so that the bottom portion has 1 inch of space once it is folded on the top of the box. The top should have enough paper to completely overlap and meet at the very bottom of the box. That portion will actually completely cover the 1 inch portion that we taped (with double sided tape) to the box.
Now for the sides. Turning the box to the side and starting on my left, I’m following the seam of the box and creating a crease.
Fold that in and tape down. Do the same on the right side.
lift the bottom part up and tape down.
I continue this method to wrap all the presents.
Next I’m going to add some dainty pink ribbon and make a simple bow.
Hope these tips gave you some ideas for your next baby girl baby shower!
xo, Rachel
