DIY Skin Firming Coffee Scrub

March 27, 2015

Coffee scrubs are super popular right now, but they can also be super pricey!

Many skincare body products contain caffeine as a aid in firming the skin and preventing and treating cellulite. You can make a completely organic and SUPER easy yet effective Skin Firming Coffee Scrub with just 3 simple ingredients.

1/4 Cup Ground Organic Coffee

Try to avoid using decaf, as this is a bit counterproductive. You want the caffeine that’s in coffee combined with the physical exfoliation of the coffee grounds.

 1/4 Cup Brown Sugar

The natural glycolic acid contained in sugar combined with the physical exfoliation makes for a FANTASTIC body scrub!! You could also just mix brown sugar and your favorite oil for a simple hydrating body scrub.

 1/4 Cup Coconut Oil Softened

Recent studies have found virgin coconut oil to speed up wound healing, and be extremely effective in increasing hydration and reducing water loss in seriously dry skin. It smells delicious, is very affordable, and leaves the skin feeling nourished and smooth after exiting the shower.

Thoroughly mix all three ingredients together.

 Boom! Easy!

You can use this scrub in the shower, or over a towel if you’re concerned about your drain becoming clogged. This treatment is great to perform 3 times a week during your morning shower.

If you’re sensitive to caffeine or pregnant/breastfeeding, check with your doctor first. =)
