Hey Ya’ll. Welcome back!
Today I thought I would share my list of mommy must-haves. If you are a new mom, and you are registering for items, hopefully this will be a good resource for you.
My Newborn MUST-HAVES:
Oliver slept in a co-sleeper until he was 4 months old.
He switched to his crib at that point, and he really thrived. He LOVES his crib now!
I would definitely say that THIS is a must-have for those first few months.
We swaddled Oliver for the first 3 months of his life. He started to break free at around 4 months, and seemed to sleep better without them, so we stopped at that point. These were my personal favorite blankets, but NOT my favorite swaddles. They were a little easy to break out of for him. I LOVE these as a baby blanket though, and they are THE PERFECT gift for new moms.
THIS was the product I used for swaddling. It was PERFECTION! I used it every night until it fell apart. Although every baby is different, many babies sleep better when they are snug tight inside a swaddle. This one is a bit harder for babies to break out of. You will get a sense of what your child prefers, but Oliver really liked being swaddled for the first 3 months.
I NEVER had an over abundant supply of milk, and I had to stop breastfeeding early due to supply issues. During those initial first months (when I wanted to keep my supply up and store milk), I LOVED my breast pump. I stored it away for our next baby. Most insurance companies will pay for a breast pump, so be sure to call your insurance provider before purchasing one just to be sure.
I personally REALLY loved this product. It was worth it for me to have peace of mind. If for some reason baby stops breathing, an alarm will sound. It was hard for me to feel comfortable falling asleep, because I always felt a little worried. This product snaps onto the diaper, and monitors breathing. It may not be for every mommy, but it definitely eased my mind.

Now that Oliver is 7 months, I no longer need some of the items I needed when he was first born.
He’s eating solids now, so I do a combination of feeding him organic baby food when we are out, and making my own baby food from scratch for home. I plan to do a post about that soon.
Since I no longer breast feed, Oliver is using a combination of Tommee Tippee bottles and Como Tomo bottles to drink his formula. He can hold his own bottle at this point, and both of those are really easy for him to grasp. Como Tomo are great transitional bottles for breastfeeding mothers.
I always set out a big blanket, and his favorite toys and books. He loves little balls that rattle, and his teether. Those are this favorite toys. I also got him a little baby phone because he’s always reaching for my phone. He loves it.
All of the diapers, wipes, formula and any baby food I purchase is from Whole Foods. They have a nice organic selection of items to choose from.
One of my favorite items is my Angel Care monitor. I love that it also has a breathing sensor, temperature sensor, and I can see and hear him from my bedroom. May be overkill for some, but honestly BEST investment. It’s a GREAT monitor in my opinion. He knows when I turn on the monitor thats its time for bed. In the morning, he looks at the monitor and starts talking like “ok mom, come get me!” haha It’s pretty cute!
I know that not everyone who reads is a mommy, but hopefully you enjoyed this post!
