My Week In Photos

May 13, 2014
If you follow me on Instagram,  you may have already seen most of these photos. Here’s my week in photos
My Week With Family =)
a little couples selfie before we head out the door.. =) lol
Nikki Phillippi had a Cinco De Mayo birthday party.. =) We had my mom babysit Oliver, and decided to go and have a good time. ;0)
Oliver really likes to watch daddy edit… ehem… I mean research cars he already owns online. lol ahah  ;0)
We LOVE going to the park as a family.. I usually play music, bring some snacks, and we just enjoy the nice weather and family time. =)
My day in a nutshell. =)
During the day I play with Oliver, and have a few different play zones for him when I’m doing other things around the house.. =)
He plays in his play mat for a while and just stares, reaches, laughs and absolutely LOVES it.. It can keep him busy for quite some time.  I do a bit of tummy time everyday too. =) Per his pediatricians rec, we started solids. I got him used to the Bumbo with a few minutes every day, and that is where he eats solids now. =)
Almost everyday we go outdoors for a bit. The weather has been SO perfect. It’s been 95 degrees with a warm summer breeze, and you just CAN’T stay indoors all day. ;0) Oliver is enjoying the hot weather in the shade.. =)
Mommy Must-Haves
My mom bought me these bottles, and I’m super excited to try them out for Oliver. They are supposed to be the best!!

My poor baby was getting his legs stuck in his crib at night.. He’s rolling over back and forth, and really moving a lot in his crib. I decided to get the Breathable Baby mesh bumper.. It allows air flow in the crib,  and also prevents his legs from getting stuck in between the bars. =( Poor little guy.

Oliver is becoming MUCH more interested in toys. He’s reaching for them, and chews on them. At the end of the day, my house has toys everywhere. I got a basket from Target, and I put all his toys in there every night after he goes to bed. =)
My Week In Food
I’m currently LOVING Acai Bowl. Tons of places make it, and it’s the hottest thing right now. It’s basically an Acai sorbet with fruit on top. I get strawberries, banana, and coconut.. =) It’s DIVINE, and healthy for you too! =)  Great summer snack!
I’ve always been a BIG fan of Chlorophyll =) It’s supposed to be a blood cleanser, blood builder and oxygen booster. It’s just always made me feel so great, so I take a few drops in my water. It kinda tastes like mint tea. =) Always check with your own doctor if you plan to try any supplements like these! =) Every body is totally different! =)

Sticking with the green theme, I’ve been loving wheatgrass shots. These are nothing new actually. I used to get one everyday when I was in college. Wheatgrass has TONS of benefits to the body. =)
I recently did a video showing some of my favorite foods for healthy skin. =) Cantaloupe is excellent for your skin for many reasons, and I LOVE it. I’ve been eating lots of cantaloupe for breakfast. I usually have that with some scrambled eggs, Ezekiel toast, and green tea.
I sometimes add some lime and chili powder for a kick =)
Here the video =)
This year was my first Mothers day.  I slept in a bit, and woke up to little Oliver sleeping next to me. I went out to the kitchen, and Byron had some fresh flowers and breakfast waiting for me. We spent the rest of the day with my parents, my brother, his wife Melanie, and and their two kids. It was THE PERFECT day! =)
Some of you may not know that my husband also makes videos on YouTube full time. He was a Chef for ten years in the kitchen. He started when he was 17, and worked brutal hours for the first few years of our marriage. He was never home. He has a cooking channel now, and he enjoys it so much. This was a few weeks ago on his channel, but I JUST couldn’t resist showing it to you. Everything he makes is beautiful and delicious, but seriously this was just down right FUN!! I LOVED it. =)
Here’s his video =)

My Week; Beauty, Fashion, Misc
I went to visit my dermatologist Dr. Lancer this week. I got a power peel treatment, and had him check out my skin. He gave me some excellent postpartum skin tips, along with a signed copy of his book. I’m working on possibly filming a video with him in his office very soon. ;0)
On most days, I really don’t wear makeup. I’m lucky if I freakin brush my hair. =) lol
If I’m gonna go out at all, I definitely try to pull myself together a bit.  This is an example of a no-makeup/casual look. I still feel put together enough to leave the house, but it’s very minimal effort. I love those jean from Love Culture and the top for DailyLook.
Another no-makeup look, but with a great maxi from FlynnSkye. It’s comfortable, and perfect for this hot weather. =) I ALWAYS wear sunglasses. I’ve been wearing Blenders sunnies recently. They are affordable yet super nice. =)
Heres what I wore to Nikki Phillippi’s birthday party. =) It was a pretty casual party, and the weather was nice and warm. Love this StyleLoveLiving Romper. =)
Dailylook has SOOO many cute things for summer. =) I ordered a few new pieces.. I will be doing some summery outfit posts soon. =)
My current candle crush!! It was a gift from my mother for mothers day. =) It makes my house smell like a passion fruit island.. Whatever THAT is.. lol It’s Voluspa Goji Torocco Orange. Affordable, yet luxurious.

I’ve been hearing about these detox teas EVERYWHERE!! YourTea sent me a package of their 28 day detox tea. So far I LOVE IT… It’s NOTHING drastic, totally gentle. I have been drinking it for almost a week, and haven’t felt anything weird. I personally LOVE the taste and smell. It’s super earthly, but I am a tea lover, so I don’t mind it at all. I will keep you posted on how I like.
I also picked up a few of my current favorite scents at Yankee Candle
I discovered this scent in the ladies restroom at Dr. Lancers dermatology office in Beverly Hills. Lets just say, this smell made me very happy. I immediately went and picked it up.  It just smells so light and beautiful. It’s perfect for summer.

Outside my parents house is a jasmine bush. Every time I go over there, I am reminded of my childhood summers, and the summers when I met Byron and married him.
I found the midnight jasmine scent, and decided it was the next best thing. It smells pretty darn close. =)

Gardenias are my favorite flower EVER. Byron used to buy them for me all the time when we were dating, and he even planted a Gardenia bush in his garden for me last summer. I had them as my wedding bouquet, and all over my wedding tables. The smell (to me) is just heavenly.

I am definitely one for ambience, and setting the mood. I love to light candles, and play music. Music is such a wonderful mood lifter. I’ve been listening to the Pandora app a lot. My favorite channel BY FAR, is the Edith Piaf channel on Pandora radio. My friend Greg is an esthetician, and he was giving me a facial a few weeks back. The music was amazing, I felt so relaxed. I asked him “what are you playing?”, and he told me about that channel. It’s such romantic and easy-to-listen-to music.  I also love the Jack Johnson station.
I listen to music in my house with this amazing Bose SoundLink mini speaker. I got this in the gift bag from the QVC event. It recharges, so you can take it anywhere in the house. I love to take it in the bathroom with upbeat music for when I get ready, leave it in the living room with nice soft ambience music, or even put it in the stroller for music when we go on family walks. It’s AWESOME!

It was fun to see all these photos! Oliver is so stinkin’ cute! I’m super in love with that romper you wore to the Cinco de Mayo party! It’s so cute and I bet it was so comfy, too! I’m definitely interested in those chlorophyl drops, I’m going to look into those (I love mint tea, so!) haha.

Hi Rachel! Loved reading your post!

    1. Oliver is seriously the cutest baby I have ever seen.
    2. That Acai Bowl sounds amazing, and my friend keeps on telling me about Chlorophyll so I really need to get on that. I think they sell wheat grass shots at Liquid Nutrition so I need to try that out as well
    3. I love Byron’s recipes, and I’m so happy he gets to do YouTube videos full time.
    4. Can’t wait for your videos!
    5. I purchased that spring jacket you blogged about a couple of months ago from Ebay (the one that is beige at the front and black at the back with belts on each arm) and absolutely love it! I’ve gotten so many compliments on it too. So glad you shared 🙂
