I’ve always been someone who likes to write down my schedule, goals, and ideas! I remember I had a diary/planner from target when I was 12 that you could only open with your own voice. haha My friends used to come over and try to mimic my voice to get in.. haha I wrote everything in there. I think as a kid I liked the idea of being organized, but there was not much substance in my planner. Once I started homeschooling, I excelled in school because I could plan out my own days and accomplish goals. As an adult, I think my life would be in shambles if I didn’t have a place to look and remind me of what I need to get done everyday in order to keep everything running smoothly. Different methods work for everyone, but my planner is my fun place!! It’s a way for me to set goals and be excited about them, and a place to keep my mind straight with everything everyone has going on in my family. It’s also a fun place to be creative too!
I wanted to chat a little bit about my new planner from Kate Spade. I had a different planner initially, which I still LOVE. This is the Louis Vuitton MM day planner that I got on Poshmark pre-loved!! I take it EVERYWHERE! It’s much more compact than the Kate Spade. This is more of a traditional sized planner, and the perfect size for someone who wants to have it on-the-go!
This Kate Spade one is a bit bigger. Since my writing isn’t small and dainty, I definitely like having the extra space. I ordered this one online to compare sizes and see which I preferred. This has the finishing of 2015 through 2016
I kinda fell down the rabbit hole one random night watching planner videos on YouTube . I had NO IDEA that people got all glam bam with them! Everyone has such a fun style, and it’s so interesting to see other peoples creative ideas in their own planners. I’m fascinated by super organized people, although I MUST SAY, no ones life is wrapped perfectly in a bow. It’s just not! MINE INCLUDED!! Which I hope you all know! Some people are just better at organizing than others, and this is something I’ve had to really learn and work on over the years.. It’s hard to stay organized, motivated, and interested in life. You just have to find what works for you and gets you motivated and excited!
I decided to dable in the sticker situation! Slightly intimidated and unsure what the heck I was supposed to do, I started just having fun with it. Literally, I just started decorating. It sorta reminded me of scrap booking, which my mom used to do! I was never a good scrap booker!! haha I honestly don’t have time to do this very often, but sometimes at night when I’m watching a movie and sitting with a face mask on, I write down my goals, add stickers, and just make it look pretty!! It’s a nice mind set before bed! It gets me all excited about the next day!! Not to mention that it’s kinda therapeutic.
You can get soooo many fun things off of Etsy to decorate your planner!! Honestly, this may seem stupid, but I gotta admit it’s super fun!
You know I had to whip out my jelly pens to decorate with!! haha I may be 28, but my inner 12 year old gets giddy!!
I keep stickers to a minimum, but I begin to write out my week. I add post it’s to each day with a daily “to do” list. I like post its because I don’t crowd my planner with random daily goals that are not things I HAVE to do! They are just goals or tasks I would like to accomplish in case I get a second where I feel bored, or want something to do. I like to make a little task list. I’m usually shocked with how many “extra curricular” things I’m able to squeeze in everyday! It really helps prevent laziness and idleness. I’ve tried this method for the last two years and slowly but surely I’ve added more and more into my schedule without feeling overwhelmed..
Then, just start planning away!!!
How do you like to stay organized?
Hope you enjoyed this post! =)
