Sooo.. I’ve been using Kate Sommerville‘s products since the beginning of my career in the beauty industry. I was first introduced to the brand long before my Blog and YouTube while I was still working as a representative for Clarisonic. When I tried to her line for the first time I was instantly hooked! I still love her products and also pop into her clinic for the occasional facial.
Even after my Clarisonic days ended and I transitioned to a full-time content creator, I stayed obsessed with the Kate Sommerville line. The simple reason …the products just make your skin look amazing!
I turned 30 this year, and I’ve been wanting to experiment with non invasive skin treatments that have no down time. When I was asking about which treatment might be a good fit, they recommend a series of 3 Laser Genesis Treatments, and offered me the chance to it out. I was 100% on board.
I booked my first Laser Genesis treatment and they also just so happened to be having an influencer event that same day. It worked out perfect. Starting with the event…it was darling! Every girl got to hand select flowers from a spectacular assortment and make a bouquet arrangement. So fun!! Fresh blooms makes any day brighter!
After a little fun getting get my hands deep into florals, they served these adorable pink tye dye mini-donuts and rosé in these fabulous pink glasses that had edible flowers in them! I’m not a big drinker, but I appreciated the creativity, and the donuts were divine. Definitely gave me the inspiration to do a floral spa water recipe…
Now to the Laser Genesis. What exactly does it do? According to Kate Sommerville Clinic, and others, it’s a gentle, non-invasive laser that’s effective for anti-aging, rosacea, acne, and scarring. The laser warms the skin and stimulates collagen production, which helps treat the complexion while reducing redness and decreasing pore size and fine lines. The entire treatment takes about 15-45 minutes, depending on if you’re doing a spot treatment or a full face and neck. I went for the whole package! Face, Neck & Chest!
It started with a soothing cleanse and pore extraction—the start of any good facial. Then the laser portion began, and the ever so stunning and stylish eye goggles came out! haha
Jill was my nurse and she was fabulous! She began the treatment which felt like a pretty mild targeted heating sensation. I wouldn’t say it’s particularly irritating or painful, but after 10-15 minutes of the treatment you can start to feel slightly flushed and the laser can seem a bit hotter. Nothing too major, and if you have a good technician they should be checking in on how you’re feeling or possibly reacting to the laser.
For me, the entire process took about 30 minutes. There was a subtle tingle and warming sensation that continued for about an hour or so after the procedure. Some patients report redness, but I wouldn’t say I noticed anything too crazy. Altogether I found it to be pretty relaxing actually.
On average, most patients require between 3 and 6 treatments. I participated in 3 treatments (each a week apart), and went in hoping for an overall boost in my skin and to stimulate collagen production as I head full steam into my thirties. Who doesn’t want a little collagen boost in their skin??? What I noticed after the treatments was a certain plumpness to the skin. Right away I noticed fine lines had faded. I also noticed that my skin continued to improve over time and with each treatment. It definitely provided an overall glow and youthful appearance. I was hoping that it would treat a little bit of my melasma from my pregnancy, but as they told me there are better devices and techniques for that trouble area. I’m looking into experimenting with some of those options next.
Overall I think the procedure is great for anyone that doesn’t like painful lasers or injectables and is looking for a facial refresh that doesn’t have any downtime. The cost, of course, can be excessive to factor into any budget, but if you want to treat yourself I think it’s an effective option. Different locations charge different prices, and it’s also dependent on the area in which you get treated. Call THE CLINIC and request a quote and consultation if you’re interested in trying it out.
