Up-Cycle A Candle Jar

December 3, 2014

Hey there!

I’m super excited about todays post.. I’m a HUGE fan of luxury candles. I try to find candles that not only smell and burn amazing, but also come in a beautiful container. I love to take my candle containers and up-cycle them by turning them into containers for other things, or making a beautiful bouquet like what I will be showing you today. It’s a great way to REALLY get your moneys worth. Dayna Decker are some of my FAVORITE candles. The wick is wood, so they crackle and pop when they burn, and they come in the most chic packaging around. I ADORE them!

All you need is your favorite finished candle container, floral foam, and your favorite flowers. I’m going to make a really simple rose bouquet.

Start by tracing a circle where you will need to cut the floral foam.

Cut the foam where you marked, and place the foam into the empty candle jar.

Be sure to add water and completely soak the formal foam. It’s best to do this when you have already placed the foam inside the empty jar.

Cut the flowers, and begin putting the flowers into the foam. Start by circling around the edges, and finish by filling in the middle.

Fluff the flowers to give your bouquet a full appearance.

Beautiful idea! But how do you get the wax out of the candle? Any tips?
