Byron and I have been together 10 years and married for 8. =) When we first got married, we were both working our butts off and living in a tiny apartment trying to make ends meet. We discussed getting married when we were dating and we knew we didn’t want to start our marriage off in any debt. We decided to choose a diamond size that was reasonable for us at the time and could be payed for in cash. The beautiful band portion of the ring was from Robbins Brothers in Woodland Hills. Since the diamond was purchased elsewhere, we always said that down the road in our marriage we would LOVE to go back to Robbins Brothers and choose a diamond. The original diamond is very special and a unique cut, so I definitely plan to keep it and pass it down. I adore my wedding ring and constantly get complimented on it, so I really had no desire to change the overall look of the ring. The whole process has been so fun and brought back MAJOR wedding memories. I used to go to Robbins Brothers to get my ring cleaned ALL THE TIME when we first got engaged, but once I was two or three years into our marriage, I wasn’t as consistent in going back. It was nice to see it sparkle again. With all the wedding memories swirling, I plan to do a fun mini wedding series in June on my YouTube channel. I will share my engagement story, planning tips and theme choices etc., so stay tuned.
Everyone at this location is just so delightful and pleasant. I would imagine everyone is so happy because they work around gorgeous diamonds and rings all day long…haha right!?? They also went above and beyond to help me find the perfect diamond within the price point we decided.
I will do a more in depth post down the line of how to choose the perfect diamond for you. There are so many things to consider and I had so much fun learning even more, and choosing the perfect option for us.
My exact band is not available, but I LOVE this one too. I love the dainty filigree look in some of the ring styles available at the store. I always felt that there is a very unique look and approach to Robbins Brothers engagement rings. Unlike anything else I’ve ever seen. Very vintage and classic looking.
Here’s a before and after. We upgraded from a 1.0 carat, to a 2.07. I wish that a camera could capture just how pretty and sparkly it looks in person. It’s just perfect (in my opinion) ;).
If you’re interested in a similar ring, check out this Robbins Brothers wedding ring. Its the same vintage feel, but a tiny bit thinner of a band.
Stay tuned for my post all about choosing a diamond!
Hope you enjoyed this post,
